Terms of use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of translationcenters.com, including the public directory and the Translation Marketplace. By using the website, creating an account or using the marketplace, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Translation Centers on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

1. About Translation Centers

The website translationcenters.com (“Translation Centers”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Translation Centers LLC. We currently offer:

  • a public directory of translation companies and translators;
  • the Translation Marketplace, where buyers post translation requests and providers (translators and translation agencies) submit quotes and deliver orders.

Our management software for translation companies is under construction and is not currently offered (see “Management Software” below).

2. Definitions

  • Buyer: a marketplace account that posts translation requests and orders work.
  • Provider: a marketplace account of a translator or translation agency that quotes for and performs work.
  • Request: a buyer’s description of a translation job with one or more target languages.
  • Quote: a provider’s offer, with a price for each language it covers, a delivery time and a number of included revisions.
  • Order: the contract created when a buyer accepts a quote for some or all of its languages.
  • Wallet: the record in our system of an account’s balances in each currency — available, reserved for orders, earnings and withdrawals in progress.
  • Review period: the time after a delivery during which the buyer can approve it, request a revision or open a dispute.
  • Commission: the platform fee deducted from the provider’s share when payment for an order is released.

3. Our role

Translation Centers provides the platform. We do not perform translations and we do not employ providers. Every order is a contract directly between the buyer and the provider; we are not a party to it. We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, timeliness or legal acceptance of any translation, nor the identity, qualifications or certification of any provider, although we may verify some information.

Translation Centers is not a bank, a payment institution, an electronic-money issuer, a licensed escrow agent or a trustee. The wallet is an accounting record kept in our system. It is not a bank account or a deposit, it is not electronic money, and balances do not earn interest.

4. Public directory

Listings are published at the listed party’s request or compiled by our team from information provided to us. Listed parties are responsible for the accuracy of their information. A listing is not an endorsement or a recommendation.

We may edit, suspend or remove a listing — for example if it is inaccurate, misleading or the subject of a valid complaint. A provider may ask to link its marketplace account to its listing; our team verifies such requests before approving them.

Any agreement you make with a listed provider outside the marketplace is between you and that provider.

Signed-in users can like, save and comment on listings. Comments must be honest, lawful and relevant to the listing, and must not contain insults, advertising or other people’s personal information. A comment is the opinion of its author, not of Translation Centers, and we may hide or remove any comment.

5. Marketplace accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
  • Each sign-in has one marketplace account, either as a buyer or as a provider.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Providers must describe their languages, qualifications and certifications truthfully.
  • Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us immediately about any unauthorised use.
  • You must verify your e-mail address, and we may ask for further information to verify your identity, especially before paying a withdrawal.

6. Company listings and official e-mail

Only a person authorised to represent a company may register or manage its listing. To show this, the company account must use an official e-mail of the company:

  • The e-mail must be on the company's own domain, the same domain as its website when it has one (for example info@yourcompany.com). Free personal mailboxes such as Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook or Yahoo are not accepted.
  • We send a confirmation code to that e-mail. A company listing is reviewed and published only after the code has been confirmed.
  • By registering you confirm that the e-mail is an official contact of the company and that you are authorised to act for it. The public e-mail and website on the listing must be on the same domain.
  • Registering a company you do not represent, or using an e-mail that is not the company's, is prohibited. We may reject, unpublish or transfer such a listing and suspend the account; the company may ask us to do so at any time.

7. Translation requests

Buyers describe the job: source and target languages, volume, deadlines, budget or “receive offers”, requirements and files. A draft is not visible to anyone until it is published.

The buyer chooses who can see and quote: Open (all matching providers), Invite-only or Private (only invited providers). Marking a request Confidential limits its files and special instructions to invited and awarded providers. For an Open request that is not Confidential, matching providers can see its files.

Providers can quote until the quote deadline. The buyer can accept quotes until 14 days after the quote deadline; requests that are not awarded by then expire. The buyer may cancel a request at any time; orders already awarded are not affected.

You may upload only documents you are entitled to share for translation.

8. Quotes

A provider may quote only for languages that are part of the request and still open, with a price for each language, a delivery time, the number of included revisions and, optionally, a package price that applies only if the buyer awards every language in the quote. Quoting is free.

A quote is an offer to perform the work on those terms. It can be updated until another provider submits a quote on the same request — after that it is final — and it can be withdrawn until it is accepted. A buyer always accepts the version of the quote they were shown. Quotes must be genuine and priced for the work described.

9. Accepting a quote and orders

A buyer may accept a quote for all or some of its languages, and may award different languages to different providers. Accepting a quote creates an order: a contract between the buyer and the provider on the terms of the request, the quote and these Terms of Use.

A quote can be accepted only if the buyer’s available balance covers the order amount. On acceptance that amount is reserved for the order immediately (see “Reserved funds, release and commission”).

The provider confirms the start of work and delivers through the marketplace. The buyer may request up to the number of revisions included in the quote.

After each delivery the buyer has a review period — currently 72 hours; the period that applies is fixed when the order is awarded and shown on the order — to approve the delivery, request a revision or open a dispute. If the buyer does none of these, the delivery is treated as approved and payment is released automatically at the end of the review period.

10. Funding your wallet by bank transfer

At present, buyers add funds only by bank transfer to the bank account shown on the top-up page, quoting the payment reference shown there. Your balance is credited after our team has confirmed that the transfer was received; it is not instant. The minimum top-up is shown on the wallet page.

Charges and exchange-rate differences applied by your bank are your responsibility. A transfer that cannot be matched to a top-up, or that arrives for a different amount, may be delayed until it is clarified, or returned.

Balances are kept separately in each currency; we do not convert currencies. The wallet may be used only to pay for marketplace orders. It must not be used to store money or to move money between users.

11. Reserved funds, release and commission

When a quote is accepted, the order amount moves in our records from the buyer’s available balance to a reservation for that order. Reserved amounts cannot be used for other orders or withdrawn while the order is active. “Payment secured” on an order means exactly this: the amount has been received and reserved in our records for that order. It is not a guarantee by Translation Centers of the provider’s work or of any amount beyond the reservation.

When a delivery is approved — by the buyer, or automatically at the end of the review period — the reserved amount is released: the provider’s share, after commission, is added to the provider’s withdrawable earnings, and the commission is retained by Translation Centers.

12. Platform commission

Buyers pay the price in the accepted quote; there is currently no separate buyer fee. Providers pay a commission, deducted from the order amount when payment is released. The current rates are:

  • 10% for orders below ⁨US$1,000⁩;
  • 8% for orders from ⁨US$1,000⁩;
  • 6% for orders from ⁨US$5,000⁩.

Thresholds for other currencies are shown on the Marketplace page. The rate is determined when an order is awarded, recorded on the order and not changed afterwards. No commission is charged on quotes that are not accepted, on cancelled orders or on refunded amounts. In a dispute settled by a split, commission applies only to the provider’s share. We may change rates for future orders by updating the Marketplace page and these terms.

Each buyer and provider is responsible for the taxes that apply to the amounts they pay or receive.

13. Cancellations and refunds

Before the provider starts work, the buyer or the provider may cancel the order; the full reserved amount returns to the buyer’s available balance and the languages can be awarded again. After work has started, an order cannot be cancelled by one party alone: the parties should settle the matter through messages or a dispute.

Our team may refund an order that is not completed and not under dispute — for example if the provider cannot be reached.

Refunds are credited to the buyer’s available balance. They are not sent automatically to a bank account; the buyer may request a withdrawal of the available balance.

14. Disputes

The buyer or the provider may open a dispute while an order is awarded, in progress, delivered or awaiting a revision, stating the reason and providing evidence. Only one dispute can be open for an order at a time. While it is open, the reserved amount is frozen and is not released automatically.

Both parties can add messages and evidence, and our team may ask questions. Our team then decides how the frozen amount is allocated: released in full to the provider, refunded in full to the buyer, or split between them. The decision is based on the request, the quote, the deliveries, the messages and the evidence, and it is recorded with the order.

The decision is final as to the amount held in the marketplace. It does not limit any rights the buyer and the provider have against each other under applicable law.

15. Withdrawals (payouts)

Providers may withdraw their earnings, and buyers may withdraw available balance that is not reserved for an order, by requesting a withdrawal and giving their bank details. The amount is set aside as “withdrawal in progress” until it is paid. The minimum withdrawal is shown on the wallet page.

Withdrawals are paid manually by our team by bank transfer to the account you give. We may ask for verification, and we may delay or refuse a withdrawal where we suspect fraud or a breach of these terms, or where the law requires it. If a withdrawal is refused or cancelled, the amount returns to your balance.

Your bank’s charges are your responsibility, and we are not responsible for delays caused by banks or for incorrect bank details you provide.

16. Reviews and ratings

After an order is completed, the buyer and the provider may each review the other once. Reviews must be honest and based on the order. Fake, paid-for, retaliatory or manipulated reviews are prohibited. We may hide reviews that break these terms. A provider’s average rating, number of completed orders and on-time rate may be shown publicly on its linked directory listing.

17. Messages, files and confidentiality

Use the marketplace messages for communication about requests and orders, so that there is a record if a dispute arises.

Providers must keep buyers’ documents and information confidential. They may use them only to prepare a quote and to perform the order, must not share them with anyone else — including subcontractors — without the buyer’s consent, and must delete them when they are no longer needed unless the law requires them to be kept. Buyers must likewise respect the confidentiality of providers’ information.

Buyers are responsible for choosing the right visibility for their requests. Buyers and providers may agree additional confidentiality terms directly.

18. Intellectual property

You keep all rights in the content and documents you upload. You give Translation Centers a limited licence to store, copy, process, transmit and display them to the people authorised to see them, only to operate the service.

Unless the buyer and the provider agree otherwise, once payment for an order has been released the provider grants the buyer the rights needed to use the delivered translation for any purpose, to the extent the law allows. The provider confirms that the delivered work is its own and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

The Translation Centers name, website, design, software and the compilation of the directory belong to Translation Centers. You may not copy them or extract the directory in bulk without our written permission.

19. Prohibited use

You must not:

  • upload unlawful content, or documents you are not entitled to share;
  • upload malware, or try to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data or systems, or test our security without permission;
  • give false information, impersonate anyone, or misrepresent qualifications or certification;
  • create accounts or post quotes or reviews to manipulate prices, rankings or ratings;
  • arrange to pay outside the marketplace for an order that was awarded through it;
  • use the wallet for anything other than paying for marketplace orders — including transferring money between users, money laundering or financing unlawful activity;
  • scrape the website or the directory in bulk, use bots, or overload the service;
  • send spam, or harass or threaten other users.

20. Our responsibilities

Translation Centers will:

  • operate the directory and the marketplace with reasonable care and skill;
  • keep an accurate record of every balance, reservation, release, commission, refund and withdrawal;
  • credit top-ups after confirming receipt, and process withdrawal requests, as described in these terms;
  • apply the commission rate recorded on each order;
  • handle disputes impartially and on the basis of the evidence;
  • protect personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.

21. Your responsibilities

Buyers are responsible for describing their requests accurately, having the right to share their documents, choosing the right visibility, reviewing deliveries on time and paying for orders only through the marketplace.

Providers are responsible for describing their skills truthfully, quoting only for work they can perform, delivering on time and to the standard quoted, keeping documents confidential and meeting any professional, certification and tax obligations that apply to them.

You are responsible for claims that arise from content you upload or from your breach of these terms.

22. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or restrict an account if we reasonably believe it breaches these terms, involves fraud or a security risk, or where the law requires it. A suspended account can still view its information but cannot take actions. During an investigation, amounts in the account may be held.

If an account is closed, open orders are completed, cancelled or resolved as described in these terms. Any remaining available balance or earnings are paid to a verified bank account after deducting amounts owed, unless the law prevents it.

You may ask us to close your account at any time, once it has no active orders, open disputes or pending withdrawals.

23. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The website and the marketplace are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that they will always be available or free of errors.

To the extent permitted by law, Translation Centers is not liable for the acts or omissions of buyers, providers or listed parties; the quality, accuracy, timeliness or legal acceptance of translations; delays or errors caused by banks; or indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or data.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the commission we received for that order.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud or for mandatory consumer rights.

24. Management Software (under construction)

The Translation Centers management software for translation companies is under construction. It is not currently available, and no subscriptions, workspaces or company accounts can be created. Any description of it on the website is for information only and is not an offer. Separate terms will apply when it launches, and nothing here commits us to a launch date.

25. Changes to the services and these terms

We may change, add or remove features of the website and the marketplace. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. We will tell registered users about significant changes by e-mail or with a notice in their account before they take effect. Continuing to use Translation Centers after that means you accept the updated terms.

Orders already awarded continue under the terms and the commission rate that applied when they were awarded.

26. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. This does not remove any mandatory protection given to you by the law of the country where you live.

27. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact form or by e-mail to info@translationcenters.com.
